Fortune Global Forum - Marc Andreessen's future of the Quantified Self

What man can do, Nature can do better. It's even fair to say that the prototype of every human invention, present, past and future, already exists in Nature.

With the increasing pace of technological change, it's easy to get swept along by the excitement of future possibilities with data and artificial intelligence. Especially so when the futurist we're listening to is someone who clearly has his finger on the pulse of where we're headed, namely Marc Andreeson, founder of VC Andreessen Horowitz, who is confidently putting his money where his finger is.

In an interview with Fortune editor, Alan Murray at the Fortune Global Forum,November 3rd, Andreessen shared his prognostications on The Quantified Self, a movement whose followers may be anyone who shops at Fitbit and likes to collect data about  themselves. "The idea that you don't know what's happening inside your body all the time, which today you don't, will just get viewed as a primitive way to live..." opined Andreessen.

A view neatly summarised by Alan Murray as the 'Early Detection' model of healthcare as opposed to "waiting till you're ill.."

But, Hello! While we're taking the first steps to a medical future possibly similar to the one depicted in the Hollywood film, Elysium, which film, by the way, is a stark rejoinder to Andreessen's other view: that technology won't increase social inequality, we should be aware that the early detection model already exists in native form.

As an instructor of kundalini yoga meditation for more than ten years, I can tell Mr Andreessen that, long before smartphones, Nature was making use of sensors, coding and data analytics in the human body much beyond the purview of conventional medical science.

The Early Detection model is hardwired in the body in the form of chakras(hubs) and energy channels(network cabelling). The fingers are end-points and when  there's any system error(undetected beginnings of an illness) , the information is routed to the appropriate hub and then further relayed to an end-point where it can picked up by an individual.

What makes this native version better than any man-made one is that it actualises the ancient injunction: "Physician Heal Thyself". The individual, with the right knowledge can do a 'system restore' on themselves and remove the basis of what could have become an illness.

There is however one prerequisite for the Early Detection model to work : the network has to be switched on. This is the kundalini awakening.

And to add to Andreessen's predictions about a future techno-centric world, there's another prediction that says there's a superior human-centric one coming as well.
